Caitlin Clark has been undeniably the best rookie in her class and arguably in the entire WNBA. This comes not only with love but hate as well. Since Clark has entered the league last season she has been the topic of discussion in the WNBA we can’t get enough. With hate coming from rookies, veterans and even Basketball Hall of Famers, Clark still finds a way to overcome adversity and live up to the hype that comes with being the #1 overall pick. Last season Clark finished her rookie season averaging 19 pts, 6 rebs and 8 ast winning WNBA ROTY, with that the bar is set high for 2025. In 2023 the Indian Fever were not ranked in the top 5 in any category offensively or defensively. In 2024 with the addition to Clark, they were top 5 in 4 categories, those being points, field goal %, rebounds and blocks. Last year HOFer Sheryl Swoopes stated on Gil’s Arena,”Will Caitlin Clark come into the WNBA and do what she’s doing right now immediately, absolutely not.”. Angel Reese (fellow rookie in Clarks draft class) stated in a interview, “Many people are watching womens basketball right now, it all started with the National Championship game. I’ll look back in 20 years and be like, yeah, the reason why we watching womens basketball is not just cause of one person, its cause of me too.”. Even with this hate Caitlin Clark averaged a higher 3pt %, assists per game and FT %, while also leading the league in overall assists. Thus far going into 2025 Clark is averaging 24 pts, 11 ast and 8 rebs while shooting 48% from the arch and 46% from the field. Now don’t get it wrong she did get love as well, Cynthia Cooper stated when asked one word to describe Caitlin Clark on the show All The Smoke, her response being, “Amazing, a beast, she is the TRUTH.”. So regardless if its love or hate, Clark is making a statement that she WILL BE feared by the entire league and no one will challenge it.

Clark is indeed living up to the hype. I watched her 3rd triple double when they opened the season against the Sky and Angel Reese, she was simply amazing. Those ladies play her harder than anyone else and you can almost see the jealousy. Reese is the biggest culprit!
