The Cowboys having a high ceiling and even higher expectations and goals going into this season, with the signing of WR George Pickens and grabbing some good steals from the Draft the Cowboys are still gonna have to overcome a few obstacles like recovering from injuries and a bizarre never seen before schedule .

Holiday & Primetime games: This upcoming season the Cowboys play double holidays, Thanksgiving against the Chiefs and Christmas against the Commanders (both playoff teams previous season). They will also be Playing in 4 Thursday Night games which has never been done before, but it gets even more shocking, each of theses teams were in the playoffs in 2024(Chiefs, Eagles, Commanders and Lions).

NFL season trifecta: Cowboys will be playing in the NFL Opener against the Eagles, Thanksgiving Day against the Chiefs, and Christmas Day against the Commanders. The last time this was scheduled was 14 years ago with the Green Bay Packers in 2011, not to mention two of these teams made it to the Super Bowl last year and the other team made it to the NFC Championship.

Cowboys bizarre season stretch: The Cowboys are facing two of the craziest stretches in NFL history. They become the first team to play 4 teams in row with 14 or more wins in the previous season and also the first team to play 6 teams in a row with 11 or more wins in the previous season. This gives the Cowboys a difficult second half of the season especially since its a week after BYE week giving them very little chance to gain any sort of momentum.

Recovering injuries: With Trevon Diggs tearing his ACL in the beginning of the season and some mid season injuries in Dak Prescott (hamstring tear) and DeMarvion Overshown (torn MCL, PCL AND ACL), the Cowboys are gonna have a lot of key components in the offense and defense coming off some major injuries. The likelyhood of them being the same player they were is gonna be challenging, especially with Dak Prescott still struggling to find consistency in his throwing and trust in his run game since breaking his ankle in 2020, a torn hamstring is only gonna give him some more mental blocks to hurdle.

One response to “Can the Cowboys fortitude this uncanny season that the NFL has never seen before?”

I agree. Never have I seen a schedule like this. This season will be interesting. They will have a teally good season or a really bad one, no inbetween. Like always, they look great on paper.
Lots of teams got better after the draft. We will see, the season cant start fast enough.
